Privacy policy

Last updated 2 November 2026.

In short

  • No account needed: your progress is tied to one technical cookie.
  • We don’t ask for your email or real name, and we don’t store IP addresses.
  • Nickname, age and key are optional. If you’re under 13, no nickname is kept.
  • Everything goes with one button: “Profile → Delete my data”.

What we store

  • The tc_id cookie. A random profile number the server uses to recognise this browser. It’s strictly necessary: without it the trainer can’t remember your progress. It lasts two years and JavaScript can’t read it.
  • Round results. Speed, accuracy and length; which keys and letter pairs you missed or slowed down on; words from our text you mistyped; the date of the round in your own calendar.
  • The characters’ comments, so jokes don’t repeat and the characters remember earlier rounds.
  • If you gave them: your nickname, age group (under 13, 13–17, 18+), chosen character and a fingerprint of your key. We never store the key itself — only its hash (Argon2id) — which is why we can’t show it to you again.
  • Cards you shared and your personal tongue twisters.
  • If you switched reminders on: this browser’s address at its notification service, the hour you chose and your clock’s offset from UTC (no time zone or city), plus the language and tone of the reminders. Switch them off and the record is deleted.
  • In your browser (localStorage): trainer settings — mode, length, joke sharpness — whether you closed the intro, and the hour you chose for reminders. These stay on your device and are never sent to us.

What we don’t store

  • IP addresses. The server sees your address while it handles a request and uses it only against bots: in memory, hashed, for a few minutes. It never reaches the database or any log — access logs are off.
  • Email, phone, real name, or anything you type outside our text.

Who receives data

  • OpenAI (USA) writes the comments and personal tongue twisters. The model gets only round data: numbers, letters and words from our text, and earlier jokes. It never gets your nickname, cookie or IP address. Under OpenAI’s terms, API data isn’t used to train models; we keep response storage on their side switched off, though OpenAI may keep requests for up to 30 days to prevent abuse.
  • PostHog (EU servers) receives anonymous statistics: which pages are opened, how many rounds are played, whether cards get shared. Our server sends these events, not your browser, so PostHog sees neither your IP address nor the cookie. Instead of the profile number it gets a separate random ID. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, no statistics are sent at all. You can also switch them off below or in your profile.
  • Your browser’s notification service (Google for Chrome and similar browsers, Mozilla for Firefox, Apple for Safari, Microsoft for Edge), only if you switched reminders on. It carries an empty “it’s time” signal; your browser then fetches the reminder’s text from us directly, so the notification service never sees it.
  • Hosting: the server in Germany (European Union) that holds the database.

No one else. We don’t sell data. There are no ads right now; if that changes, this page will be updated first.

Cards

Anyone with the link can see a card. We tell search engines not to index it. A card is deleted together with your profile.

How long we keep data

  • A profile without a nickname: 12 months after your last visit.
  • A profile with a nickname: 24 months after your last visit.
  • Then the profile is deleted with its rounds, comments, cards and tongue twisters. Sooner whenever you press “Delete my data”.

Children

Kids are welcome. If the age given is under 13, we keep no nickname and create no key — only the age group, so the characters joke more gently.

Your rights

You can ask what we have about you, correct it, get a copy, or delete it. Deleting everything is in your profile; for anything else, write to us — the address is below.

Changes

If this text changes, we’ll update the date at the top and announce important changes on the site.

Switch statistics off

This turns anonymous statistics off for this browser — page events and round events alike. The trainer works as before.
